Our latest commission:
The commission process is quite simple and we love a challenge!
Step 1: contact us with either a rough idea of what you would like, or a design brief.
If you have a clear description, picture or rough sketch of your idea then much of the work is already done. If you have a general idea of the piece, we can do concept drawings to start the ball rolling.
Step 2: we ask you questions about your idea to get a clearer picture of what you'd like. You may want to think about the elements listed below to create the commission brief you send us. If you've seen a piece of jewellery that you like we could do something in a similar vein but we do not copy articles made by other manufacturers.
size - we cater for tiny to XXL (and we aren't talking about clothing measurements!)
weight - hollow to solid, almost anything is possible
stones - small to large, glass to diamonds, your choice
finish - satin, distressed, mirror polish...
textures - jewellery isn't only visual, it's tactile too and the surface texture may be an important element
silver or gold - sterling or fine silver, 9 or 18ct gold in yellow, white and rose
Step 3: we provide design images, design specification and quote
Step 4: we pass ideas back and forth until we finalise the design. Client sign-off (approval) of final design
Step 5: we create your piece to the agreed design specification!
Commission work is quite different to producing stock lines. The process duration depends on many variables, so it is always a good idea to contact us in good time for gifts or special treats.
