Ice Blue Dichroic Glass Pendant

This medium rectangular dichroic glass pendant has been individually fused and as such is unique. It has a fine silver bail embedded in the glass, but visible on the bed of ice blue dichroic "foil" like glass. This dichroic glass pendant will take on a variety of colours, dependent on the outfit you wear. Size: approximately 3cm (H) x 1.5cm (W).

Originally created for the aerospace industry, dichroic glass is made by vacuum depositing a special coating onto a glass sheet. The process creates a mirror like finish that reflects a specific color but when the glass is held up to the light, a different color is seen (transmitted) through the glass. Glass artists often refer to dichroic glass as "dichro".

A plate of dichroic glass can be fused with other glass in multiple firings. Due to variations in the firing process, individual results can never be exactly predicted, so each piece of fused dichroic glass is unique.
