This medium rectangular dichroic glass pendant has been individually fused and has a fine silver scroll embedded in the glass. This glass pendant has a transparent orange striped dichroic glass over a lime green base. Depending on the colour of the outfit you wear, you will either have a predominantly lime pendant or a lively golden delicious pendant that will delight! Size: approximately 3cm (H) x 1.8cm(W).
Originally created for the aerospace industry, dichroic glass is made by vacuum depositing a special coating onto a glass sheet. The process creates a mirror like finish that reflects a specific color but when the glass is held up to the light, a different color is seen (transmitted) through the glass. Glass artists often refer to dichroic glass as "dichro". A plate of dichroic glass can be fused with other glass in multiple firings. Due to variations in the firing process, individual results can never be exactly predicted, so each piece of fused dichroic glass is unique.
