MAKE YOUR OWN JEWELLERY!
Jewellery workshops, covering traditional techniques as well as silver clay, are run at the Silver Forge shop. You can create the ultimate bespoke piece.
Private workshops are still held at my studio/shop in Milnthorpe, and dates can be booked to suit the participants by phone or email. With a maximum of 2 or 3 participants (dependent on the topic), there is a lot of personal attention, with workshop content tailored to whatever you would like to make or learn.
Workshops cover silver clay, traditional silver work and glass fusing – all of which can focus on a particular jewellery piece or technique you’d like to learn.
Quite a few people are looking for like-minded workshop “mates” at the moment, so do get in touch if you are keen to attend one of my jewellery making workshops and we’ll arrange a convenient date for all!
I have scaled back my teaching at the Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal due to an ever-increasing order book and a need to be at the shop more regularly, but I will still be teaching on the occasional Saturday in their well-equipped workshop.
A VANISHING MONTH…
The month is flying by and I can’t believe we are already heading towards Valentines Day and Easter already. I’ve noticed the increase of Easter eggs in the shops and wonder how long it will be before they just stock Christmas decorations alongside Easter eggs all year round!
The studio is a busy place at the moment with some really unusual commissions underway. I hope to be posting some more updates on these when I get a chance to catch my breath.
Today will involve some casting with the Borel furnace so there will be some molten silver flowing this afternoon.

Amber Bracelet Adaptation
Just been collected from the shop – this beautiful amber bracelet was originally strung on elastic. My client asked me to re-string the amber on something stronger and create a decorative (and functional) sterling silver clasp.
On the Bench
At the moment there are several pieces underway – 2 pendants, 3 rings and a commemorative bead – but all of them are surprise gifts so I can’t put up any images yet. Suffice to say that the year has started with a busy order book; no complaints there!
