Crafted from scratch, for you

Silver Forge is a shop and studio in Milnthorpe, Cumbria, specialising in individual and commissioned jewellery pieces.

I work in silver and gold and can even use yours if you are looking to re-use some old, unworn jewellery and turn it into something fresh and new.

My pieces range from delicate to “substantial” and everywhere in-between. Textures, organic shapes, stones and natural materials can also be included.

Jo_SignatureIf you feel inspired to have a piece crafted from your idea or want to browse the items in stock – pop in and say hello.

Jewellery workshops

Jewellery workshops, covering traditional techniques as well as silver clay, are run at the Silver Forge shop. You get to create the ultimate bespoke piece.

Private workshops are still held at my studio/shop in Milnthorpe, and dates can be booked to suit the participants by phone or email. With a maximum of 4 participants (usually 2), there is a lot of personal attention, with workshop content tailored to whatever you would like to make or learn.

I have scaled back my teaching at the Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal due to an ever-increasing order book and a need to be at the shop more regularly, but I will still be doing the odd weekend workshop. Give me a call if you’d like to take part, I might be able to create a spot.

Courses cover silver clay, traditional silver work and glass fusing – all of which can focus on a particular jewellery piece or technique you’d like to learn.

Quite a few people are looking for like-minded workshop “mates” at the moment, so do get in touch if you are keen to attend one of my jewellery making workshops and we’ll arrange a convenient date for all!

Sterling silver commissioned disc with 18kt yellow gold

December is my busiest time of year, and my commissions book was full quite early on in the season. As a result I have started 2016 with quite a busy custom work schedule which is very exciting!

If you would like to commission a bespoke piece of jewellery, then please do email me or pop in to the shop for a chat.

If you are making a trip through to the shop, then please give me a call before you make a special journey to check that I am in that day.

Although I am usually around, I’d feel dreadful if I missed your visit while teaching away or exhibiting at a show – and the brilliant person looking after the shop might not be able to give you all the information you need.

Give me a quick call to confirm.
